A federal court in Florida ordered Brian Early and Alisha Ann Kingrey, Fundsz board members, to pay over 31 million dollars in restitution and civil penalties for running a fraudulent crypto scheme. The two defendants promoted a proprietary algorithm claiming to generate weekly returns exceeding 3% through cryptocurrency and precious metals trading, a promise contradicted by the fictitious results displayed to participants. Over 14,000 individuals were attracted by this offer, which also included claims that a single 2,500-dollar investment could reach one million dollars within forty-eight months. The CFTC also secured the surrender of rights to a residence and over 2.7 million dollars in assets from the estate of founder Rene Larralde, who died in 2023, as well as a permanent trading ban against Juan Pablo Valcarce. The total judgment amounts to 31,484,910 dollars, but victims may not recover the full amount ordered.
