Crypto extends gains after biggest 3-day rally since 2023

Bitcoin rose 2% on Monday to trade just under $80,000, its highest level since May, while ether gained 2% to about $2,500, its highest since January. The rally represents a move of more than 20% over three days, the biggest since 2023, after a macro shift that triggered a massive short squeeze. Spot bitcoin ETFs recorded $1.92 billion in inflows last week, their largest weekly inflow since October, and more than $4 billion in bearish positions were liquidated. Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, warned that major economies could face a debt crisis within the next several years, recommending investors hold some bitcoin.
