The Republican commissioner leaves several unfinished projects, including the custody of assets by investment advisors, rules applicable to transfer agents, and legal protection for developers. She advocated for replacing part of KYC procedures with zero-knowledge proofs, allowing verification of attributes without exposing all personal data. Her departure leaves the SEC with only two Republican commissioners, Paul Atkins and Mark Uyeda, when the board can include up to five members. The implementation of her proposals now depends on an agency engaged in a overhaul of its crypto rules, but still incomplete institutionally.
