Crypto: American Expelled from Fiji After Alleged $165 Million Ponzi Scheme

Edward Zimbardi, the American promoter of the scheme called « The Crypto Program », was expelled from Fiji to the United States on August 14 after more than a year on the run. This Ponzi scheme allegedly collected over 165 million dollars from thousands of investors between June 2022 and August 2023, promising a guaranteed monthly return of 25 percent. The funds were not used for the advertised advertising investments: 34 million dollars were lost in foreign exchange trading and at least 10 million went toward personal expenses, including a house for one of his sons and luxury vehicles. Aged 59 and from Georgia, Edward Zimbardi faces 12 counts of wire fraud, 12 counts of money laundering, and one count of conspiracy to launder money.
