CrowdStrike and Amazon Web Services launched on August 5 an AI red-teaming challenge with a $100,000 prize pool. Titled AI Unlocked: Agents of Chaos, the competition runs from August 31 to September 29, 2026 and is split into three escalating acts worth $10,000, $20,000, and $70,000 respectively. Participants must exploit autonomous AI agent vulnerabilities using prompt injection techniques, where carefully crafted inputs override an agent’s original instructions. The challenge builds on a study published on February 23, 2026 by researchers from Harvard and Stanford, which documented self-destructive behaviors and security failures in AI systems granted access to communication tools. CrowdStrike is positioning its Falcon AI Detection and Response platform as a solution to these emerging threats.
