A Cosmos EVM vulnerability was exploited across six networks, including MANTRA, TAC and KiiChain, after Cosmos Labs initially concluded the flaw only affected networks using a different decimal configuration. Attackers stole approximately $5.72 million, including $2.87 million through decentralized exchanges and $2.85 million through centralized venues. MANTRA suffered the largest disclosed hit with roughly 720.9 million tokens worth $3.6 million moved from unauthorized addresses. The vulnerability was first reported on April 25, but its true scope was only discovered in early August, triggering emergency patches on August 19. Cosmos Labs contacted 40 networks and coordinated corrective measures across 13 potentially exposed chains.
