CoinDCX confirmed a loss of roughly $16 million after attackers drained deposit wallets the platform believed it had retired. According to the exchange, its automated sweeping service failed, allowing 15.99 million USDT and 5,784 TRX to leave 40 TRON addresses for a newly created address. The company says it reimbursed affected users from internal reserves, continued trading without disruption and absorbed the loss itself. Tether froze approximately $2.21 million in USDT linked to the incident, while analysts ZachXBT and Bitquery challenged CoinDCX’s account by reporting that at least one address labeled as retired remained active after the 2025 hack. Market reaction has been limited, with no immediate notable impact on USDT or broader crypto assets.
