Coinbase published an engineering account on October 29 of its transition toward multi-user infrastructure, allowing one account or organization to include several people with distinct privileges. The company described separating the person performing an action from the entity on whose behalf it occurs, without claiming that all customer products already offer these administrative features. The architecture is intended to secure transaction processes requiring multiple approvals and to restrict access to resources. However, the announcement does not guarantee that every service is free from defects and does not replace strong authentication, careful device management or transaction-specific controls for sensitive fund movements.
