Top bankers at Morgan Stanley accidentally sent clients an internal list of more than 100 deals the bank was working on or monitoring, primarily in Asia but also in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Despite this breach of confidential information, clients do not appear inclined to withdraw their mandates from the bank, with sources close to the matter estimating that the incident will have limited impact. One banker cautioned, however, that the effect could vary depending on the client and that other banks may have used the information to check whether they had missed potential opportunities.
