Circle published a technical guide on using Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol infrastructure to transfer issuer-controlled ERC-20 tokens beyond USDC. The process requires a token identity shared across chains, burning tokens on the source network, and minting them on the destination network after Iris verifies the message. Operators must configure roles, caps, rate limits, trusted domains, and ownership rights. The examples using Arc Testnet are experimental demonstrations and do not mean that every ERC-20 token can immediately move across all chains in production. Circle states that it is neither the issuer nor the guarantor of third-party tokens, and developers remain responsible for their legal obligations and transfer risks.
