Chipotle Mexican Grill on Wednesday raised its same-store sales growth forecast for 2026, now projecting a low single digit percentage increase versus its previous outlook of flat sales. The restaurant chain beat Wall Street expectations in the second quarter with revenue of $3.35 billion and adjusted earnings per share of 33 cents. Same-store sales rose 2.2%, driven by a 1% increase in traffic and a 1.2% increase in average ticket size. Chipotle shares climbed about 6% in extended trading. The company opened 100 new locations during the quarter.
