Chainalysis Says Crypto Activity Barely Fell Despite $2.1T Market Rout

Measured global crypto economic activity declined just 1.6% during the 12 months ended June 30, 2026, falling from roughly $9.5 trillion to $9.4 trillion, even as the wider crypto market lost approximately $2.1 trillion in capitalization. This resilience was driven by surging domestic peer-to-peer transfers (+302.9% to $228.7 billion) and cross-border stablecoin flows (+77.5% to $220.3 billion), while inflows to centralized services fell 4.3%. According to Chainalysis, this gap between price movements and actual economic activity represents a sign of the crypto sector’s increasing maturity.
