Across the 73 five-day epochs ending September 1, 2026, Cardano generated 3.3 million ADA in transaction fees against 493.7 million ADA in staking rewards. Fees covered approximately 0.668% of rewards, leaving the reward pool 149.6 times larger than fee revenue. Average daily transactions fell 72.46% from 90,294 in 2022 to 24,869 between January and August 2026. Cardano’s reserves stood at 6,126,859,027 ADA, representing 13.62% of the 45 billion ADA maximum supply with an estimated four-to-five-year half-life. Leios, the capacity upgrade tested in August, delivered a sixfold performance increase but does not close the structural gap between actual revenue and distributed rewards.
