The Canton Foundation approved a grant of nearly 15.8 million Canton Coin, valued at about $1.55 million, to develop an open-source pricing tool for institutions on the Canton network. The framework, called the Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS), will allow institutions to use a shared market price to value transactions without disclosing agreed settlement amounts to data providers. RedStone will publish a reference price for calculating transaction values on the blockchain, with initial development focused on tokenized funds, private-market assets and structured products. The pricing calculations and licensing module will be released under the Apache 2.0 open-source license. According to Canton Network, the network has onboarded more than 600 institutions, including Goldman Sachs, DTCC, BNY and Franklin Templeton, and processes approximately $9 trillion in monthly transaction volume.
