Oil prices rose on Thursday as Iran continued to strike U.S. Gulf allies, with Kuwait intercepting incoming missiles and drones. Brent crude settled at $96.20 per barrel, up 57 cents, after breaking above $97 earlier in the session. WTI traded at $91.86 per barrel, up 85 cents. Oil prices have gained more than 7% this week. About 17 million barrels transited the Strait of Hormuz on Monday under U.S. military protection, a wartime record, compared with 20 million barrels per day before the war started on Feb. 28.
