Blur will shut down its website on November 12, 2026, and stop matching new Blend loans, while its marketplace contracts will remain operational on Ethereum and the BLUR token will continue to control its fee switch. Collectors must withdraw ETH held in bidding pools, cancel open listings and bids, repay or close out loans, and revoke unnecessary approvals before the shutdown. Blur gave no reason for the decision as its monthly trading volume fell from about $1.43 billion in March 2023 to less than $7 million by March 2026. The platform has also been criticized for contributing to lower creator royalties, which dropped from an average of 2.5% in 2022 to 0.6% by July 2023.
