Blast shuts down $20M layer-2 network, forcing Oct. 26 exit deadline

Blast announced on October 2 the shutdown of its Ethereum layer-2 network due to maintenance costs exceeding generated revenue. The project, which raised $20 million from Paradigm and Standard Crypto in November 2023, set October 26 as the deadline to withdraw funds through the normal interface. The liquidation process will begin with a unwind from Lido, expected to take approximately one week, during which withdrawals will be suspended before resuming with a 24-hour delay. After October 26, assets will remain recoverable through bridge contracts on Ethereum mainnet.
