Bitcoin held above $83,000 on Thursday after giving back gains following the release of US PCE inflation data, which came in lower than expected at 3.4% year-on-year versus the 3.7% forecast. Analysts cautioned that methodology changes affecting several service categories complicated the interpretation of the reading, estimating the potential impact on core inflation could reach 20 basis points. Bitcoin’s latest rally stalled at $85,600, with BTC-denominated open interest falling nearly 20% despite a 35% price increase from its August low. Bitcoin began Q4, historically its strongest quarter, at around $83,550, after posting third-quarter gains of 42.7%.
