A Bitcoin wallet belonging to Irish convicted drug dealer Clifton Collins reactivated after over ten years and transferred 500 BTC, worth approximately $41.52 million, to Coinbase Prime on October 20. This marks the fifth transfer of 500 BTC tranches from Collins-linked wallets this year, following successful seizures by the Irish Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) in March, May and July 2026. Collins, a former beekeeper from Dublin, amassed a fortune of approximately 6,000 BTC between late 2011 and early 2012 through cannabis farming activities, and allegedly lost access to his private keys after his arrest in 2017. Irish authorities, assisted by Europol, have managed to access these previously inaccessible wallets, turning one of the most infamous lost-key stories in crypto into a remarkable asset recovery operation.
