Bitcoin fell roughly 2% to around $78,420 after briefly dropping below $77,000 following a Binance security breach valued at $6.3 billion. About 239,000 traders were liquidated over 24 hours for a total of $1.54 billion, including $1.3 billion in long positions. Binance said it had frozen roughly $3 billion in on-chain assets and would cover losses using its SAFU emergency fund and company resources. The incident, which the platform linked to a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, followed the Federal Reserve’s decision to keep its benchmark interest rate between 3.75% and 4%. Although US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $17.07 million in fresh inflows on October 29, immediate resistance stands at $80,188.
