The eCash team launched an Alpha test chain on Aug. 23 at Bitcoin block 963,648, but this stage did not trigger the permanent token allocation. The permanent fork is scheduled for block 973,728, around Oct. 31, with a 1:1 ECX distribution for BTC holders. Temporary pECX tokens from Alpha and Beta phases cannot be exchanged for permanent ECX: only 10 ECX are available for every 1,000 pECX. Final software, replay rules and exchange treatment remain undefined before the target deadline.
