Bitcoin gains as rate hike expectations ease after soft PCE data

Core PCE rose 3.0% year-over-year versus the 3.3% forecast, while headline PCE came in at 3.4% against predictions of 3.7%. Comments from NY Fed President John Williams, confirming no urgency on rate hikes, caused the odds of an October hike to drop sharply from above 70% to around 37%. Bitcoin closed September with a 7% gain, breaking a pattern of historically weak Septembers, while spot Bitcoin ETF inflows reached $2.8 billion in a single reported week.
