Bitcoin briefly crossed above $85,000 on September 30 before slipping back below $84,000 following the release of US inflation data. August headline PCE inflation came in at 3.4% year over year and core PCE at 3.0%, both remaining above the Federal Reserve’s 2% target. US 10-year bond yields rebounded to around 5.276%, while stocks and Brent crude oil recovered. Gold and the dollar retreated from intraday highs. Bitcoin was up 0.99% over 24 hours, trading near $84,000 after failing to sustain the initial breakout attempt.
