Bitcoin: BTC Miners Could Draw 70% of Their Revenue From AI by End of 2026

CoinShares predicted in March that bitcoin miners could derive up to 70% of their revenue from AI by the end of 2026, compared to roughly 30% in early 2025. Five months later, players such as Core Scientific ($136.7 million in high-density hosting revenue, 83% of its revenue) and TeraWulf (71% of revenue from computing capacity rental) have already hit that target. Hashprice, which generates around $30 per petahash per day since March versus $63 in summer 2025, makes mining barely profitable and pushes companies to redirect their capacity toward AI. The nine miners tracked by BlocksBridge invested $5.11 billion in the first half of the year for only $341 million in AI revenue, with AI revenue reaching $205.8 million in the second quarter, up 52% in three months. Riot Platforms signed a 20-year lease worth $9.1 billion with Anthropic on August 11, illustrating this massive shift toward data center hosting for giants such as Google, Microsoft or Anthropic.
