The attack against Binance, which resulted in the theft of approximately $6.36 billion, was prepared for at least 36 hours before beginning with a $296 million drain in XRP. On October 29, the attacker executed coordinated transfers across 10 blockchains, including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Tron, XRP Ledger, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Avalanche and Polygon. The attacker moved 167,464 ETH and 63 tokens, including 1.615 billion USDT, using EIP-7702, while operations on Avalanche and Polygon continued in a second wave. Additional transfers from Binance-linked wallets continued for several hours, and the source of the authorizations that enabled the attack remains unresolved.
