Bilt launched its AI-powered concierge service this morning, allowing its 5.5 million members to reserve, pay and earn points across different services without logging into multiple apps. Founder Ankur Jain aims to « turn the home into the hub for everything you do—and buy » around the residence. Ken Chenault, former CEO of American Express and now chairman of Bilt, highlights housing as the anchor for neighborhood commerce, a market few have managed to dominate at scale. The announcement puts Bilt in direct competition with Amazon, which launched an improved version of its Alexa voice assistant earlier this month, capable of making purchases and managing various services on behalf of users.
