Several blockchains in the Cosmos ecosystem compatible with EVM are undergoing a major security attack. KiiChain was targeted 18 times and lost approximately 148 million KII tokens, worth nearly 10 million dollars. Mantra had to pause block production as a preventive measure, but user funds are safe. The origin of the attack would be a vulnerability in the Cosmos EVM code, for which Cosmos Labs had released a patch on August 19 without adequate official communication. Cosmos Labs is recommending validators of affected blockchains to temporarily suspend their services.
