Astroport, a Cosmos-based decentralized exchange, fully disabled tokenholder governance on Neutron and Terra on October 8, 2026, following a governance attack on September 22. A vote acquired for approximately $20,000 gave an attacker administrative control over eight Astroport contracts, exposing liquidity pools estimated at $4.9 million. Contributors will now operate the protocol through DAO DAO organizations, replacing token-weighted voting with mandatory public proposals for every decision. The protocol also plans to burn approximately 362 million ASTRO tokens and zero out emissions, while maintaining access to pools, swaps and liquidity positions for users.
