Anthropic filed a Form S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT. For the first six months of 2026, the company reported $16.29 billion in revenue, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier, but a net loss of $80.75 billion, largely driven by a $72.39 billion accounting charge. Operating loss narrowed to $693 million from $2.14 billion. Compute and infrastructure expenses surged to $8.95 billion, although Anthropic says it currently generates more than two dollars in revenue for every dollar spent on computing infrastructure. Investors will need to assess whether this exceptional growth can support profitability amid rising costs, competition, contractual commitments and Anthropic’s public-benefit mission.
