Apple makes biggest change to iPhone release cadence in 7 years in Ternus’ first showcase as CEO

In his first event as CEO, John Ternus presented the foldable iPhone Duo alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max with larger screens. For the first time since 2018, Apple is not releasing a standard iPhone at its fall event, opting instead for a spring launch to smooth quarterly revenues. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1,199 in the U.S., a $100 increase from the previous generation. The foldable iPhone Duo starts at $1,999 and features Apple’s new in-house C2 modem, which is 50% faster and 15% more energy-efficient than its predecessor.
