According to The Information, Apple is building enterprise servers, marking a notable expansion beyond its own internal AI workloads. The company has been shipping AI servers from a 250,000-square-foot facility in Houston since October 2025, ahead of schedule. This effort is part of a broader $600 billion commitment to US-based infrastructure investment. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo estimates that Apple’s AI server-specific chips, reportedly based on M5-era silicon, will enter mass production in the second half of 2026, with large-scale deployment expected by 2027. By onshoring server manufacturing in Texas, Apple positions itself against Dell, HPE, and AI infrastructure startups while leveraging its brand around data protection.
