Anthropic launched the Cyber Mission on October 8, 2026, an initiative to protect critical infrastructure and open-source software. The program focuses on two areas: operational technology covering power grids, water systems and transportation, and open-source software with a scanner achieving a projected true-positive rate exceeding 90%. The company has committed 100 million dollars in usage credits through Project Glasswing and donated 4 million dollars to organizations including OpenSSF and the Apache Software Foundation. Eleven founding partners, including Accenture, Deloitte, CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks, support the Critical Infrastructure Defense Program. Anthropic is deploying its most advanced models, including Claude Mythos, to give defenders an edge against offensive cyber operations.
