Kroll Bond Rating Agency (KBRA) assigned Anthropic a BB+ credit rating in June 2026, placing the AI company at the top of the speculative grade category, one notch below investment grade. The rating was issued in connection with a $35 billion financing deal tied to Broadcom’s AI chip platform, with Apollo Global Management leading and BlackRock as a significant participant. Anthropic plans to spend over $500 billion on data centers over the next decade, while the subordinated debt tranche included in the deal yields approximately 8.5%. The company’s quarterly revenue surged 46% in the third quarter to $16.8 billion, marking its second consecutive quarter of adjusted profitability. Securing investment-grade status would be a major strategic advantage for Anthropic, opening access to large institutional investors and lowering borrowing costs amid anticipation around a potential IPO.
