Anthropic adds OpenTelemetry support to Claude platform in public beta

Share

Anthropic has launched OpenTelemetry tracing support on its Claude Platform in public beta on October 14, 2026. This feature covers Claude Managed Agents, the Messages API, and the Claude SDK, generating spans compliant with OpenTelemetry GenAI semantic conventions. Developers can enable an optional mode to capture full content of prompts, responses, and tool inputs and outputs. The tracing is compatible with Grafana Cloud, Sentry, Splunk, and New Relic, and works with Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, PHP, and Ruby. By conforming to OpenTelemetry standards, this integration significantly reduces monitoring costs for teams already using this technology in their infrastructure.
