Palmer Luckey, founder of Anduril, traveled to Taipei on September 19 to publicly denounce Washington’s blocking of a $14 billion arms package for Taiwan. He stated he had raised the issue directly with President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Deliveries already made under previous agreements total approximately $11.1 billion, and Taiwan signed an additional contract in August 2026 for $847 million for over 2,000 Altius systems. China sanctioned both Anduril and Luckey in December 2025 over these arms sales, which did not stop the company from publicly pressuring the White House to accelerate deliveries.
