AMD launched on July 23, 2026, at its Advancing AI event in San Francisco, the Kria AI robotics platform based on Ryzen AI Embedded X100 processors. This board combines CPU, GPU, NPU, and FPGA in a unified memory architecture, allowing each compute element to share the same memory pool. AMD claims a 3.4× advantage in real-time processing capabilities, 2.3× more concurrent agents, and 3× improved FP32 performance compared to Nvidia’s Jetson Thor T5000. Foundation Future Industries, manufacturer of Phantom humanoid robots, becomes the first concrete adopter by abandoning its Nvidia and Intel configurations. AMD’s main challenge remains closing the gap between ROCm software and Nvidia’s CUDA ecosystem.
