AMD, under CEO Lisa Su, plans to invest tens of billions of dollars in its global supply chain. During a visit to Taiwan on October 6, 2026, Lisa Su announced the company will surpass its May 2026 commitment of over $10 billion. AI-driven demand has already exceeded the production capacity AMD lined up for 2026, and AMD plans to substantially increase its CPU and GPU output in 2027. Investments will target wafer capacity, advanced packaging, and supporting infrastructure. AMD, a fabless company without its own fabrication plants, is deepening partnerships with TSMC, Foxconn, Samsung, and SK Hynix.
