Amazon is building what it calls the « delivery station of the future » with a multi-year, multi-hundred-million-dollar investment. The first fully automated site will be operational in 2026. The company reached the milestone of one million robots deployed in mid-2025 across its fulfillment centers, sortation facilities, and delivery stations worldwide. The Cardinal system, a robotic arm capable of handling packages with efficiency comparable to a Tetris game, as well as the AI model DeepFleet, which improves movement efficiency by 10%, are among the key technologies deployed. In Europe, Amazon invested more than 700 million euros between 2021 and 2025 in this automation.
