Amazon is negotiating to acquire AI startup Decart for approximately $7 billion, according to the Wall Street Journal and Reuters. Founded in September 2023, Decart employs over 60 people and has raised more than $450 million. The company developed DOS, an optimization software layer compatible with NVIDIA, Google, and Amazon chips, as well as two AI models called Lucy and Oasis. Anthropic had previously explored an acquisition at $6 billion before withdrawing in September 2026 following due diligence. Negotiations are ongoing and no formal agreement has been signed.
