Amazon is closing in on a $3 trillion market capitalization as founder Jeff Bezos reportedly nears a roughly one-third stake in Liverpool Football Club. Fenway Sports Group, which has owned the club since 2010, could announce this week the entry of a consortium led by Amit Bhatia and including Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, valuing the club at $6 billion. Amazon shares closed at $274.48 on Friday, up 0.82%, bringing year-over-year gains to 24.2%. The stock crossed the $3 trillion mark for the first time on August 3, and the most bullish analysts now target $400. Liverpool, who won the English Premier League in 2024-2025, finished fifth the following season.
