Alphabet, Microsoft add objections to OKX-ICE proposed tokenized stock platform

About 25% of US-listed companies included in the initial tokenized stock platform proposal from OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) have filed objection notices. Sixteen companies, including Microsoft, Alphabet (Google’s parent company) and Goldman Sachs, have formally refused to have tokenized versions of their shares offered on this platform. The OKX-ICE partnership, called OKXICE, filed with the SEC this month for a 24/7 tokenized stock trading platform. The proposed platform would rely on permissioned Uniswap v4 liquidity pools deployed on XLayer, with each tokenized stock paired to one of three payment stablecoins: Tether’s USDT, Circle’s USDC or USDG (Global Dollar). Andrew Cuomo, OKXICE co-chair, described these objection notices as mere cautious reactions, adding that more companies are expected to join the project in the future.
