Al Nassr suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Al Ain in their AFC Champions League Elite group stage opener on September 15 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium. Houssine Rahimi opened the scoring in the 25th minute and doubled his tally in the 63rd, while Soufiane Rahimi made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute with his 19th goal in the competition, becoming Al Ain’s all-time leading scorer in the AFC Champions League. Giorgos Giakoumakis added a fourth in the 85th minute. Under new manager Ange Postecoglou, backed by new signings João Félix and Samu Costa, Al Nassr failed to find the net, with Cristiano Ronaldo kept scoreless throughout the match. The Saudi club now sits at the bottom of their group with a goal difference of -4.
