Airwallex expands from cross-border payments to autonomous finance—though president Lucy Liu says it’s still ‘not the best time’ for an IPO

Airwallex raised 320 million dollars in a Series H funding round, valuing the company at 11 billion dollars, up from 8 billion dollars last December. The Australian fintech, which established Singapore and San Francisco as new global headquarters, developed AI products including the automated bookkeeping system T:0 and the Ari wallet. The company serves over 675,000 clients and exceeds 1 billion dollars in annualized revenue, while remaining cautious about market conditions for an IPO. Geopolitical concerns have also emerged, including allegations from a U.S. senator regarding potential ties to China, which the company firmly denies.
