Taiwan will distribute 10,000 Taiwan dollars, approximately 300 euros, to each citizen as part of an unprecedented plan called the ‘AI dividend’. The total envelope reaches 235.7 billion Taiwan dollars (7.4 billion USD). Taiwan’s economic growth is projected to reach 11.05% in 2025, the highest score in 39 years, driven by global demand for artificial intelligence and semiconductors. The Taiwanese government assures it will maintain a balanced budget despite this expenditure. The payment amount is subject to debate, with the opposition requesting it be doubled to 20,000 Taiwan dollars (approximately 600 euros).
