Security Alliance (SEAL) reviewed 99 reports in its assessment published on November 4, accounting for more than $68 million and approximately 4.5 BTC in reported losses, excluding the Binance hack. A $49 million theft from an exchange platform’s connected wallet is the largest item, while nine protocol compromises account for $57.2 million and 2.42 BTC. SEAL attributed approximately $3 million in losses to four North Korean campaigns, including UNC1069, with infections lasting several weeks or months before funds were stolen. Thirteen incidents involving compromised recovery phrases account for $3.62 million, while three fake support calls netted attackers $1.57 million. The organization also identified 5,137 phishing domains, froze 0.1 BTC and 6,200 DAI, and did not guarantee that these funds would be returned.
