Anchorage Digital filed with the National Futures Association through Anchorage Digital Swap Dealer LLC to apply for swap dealer registration with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The application, submitted on November 5, 2026, aims to bring the firm’s institutional options business under formal derivatives oversight. Registration, which carries a non-refundable application fee of $15,000, would impose capital, risk management, reporting and compliance obligations. Anchorage already provides options trading and margin services through Anchorage Hold LLC, while the NFA reviews its new application. Founded in 2017 by Diogo Mónica and Nathan McCauley, the company is valued at $4.2 billion and holds a federal national bank charter and a New York crypto license.
