Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a criminal complaint against BG Limited, Bitget’s operating company, for providing digital asset trading services in the country without a license between 2022 and 2025. The regulator also accused Kritsana Kritsananuwat of promoting the platform and its campaigns through Thai-language pages and accounts on Facebook, YouTube, X, Telegram and TikTok. Access to Bitget’s website, other domains and application will be blocked from Dec. 5, 2026, following the SEC’s request to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society. The case has been referred to the Economic Crime Suppression Division for further investigation, possible prosecution and court proceedings. The SEC urged Bitget users to review their holdings and take action before the restrictions take effect, noting that investors on unlicensed platforms are not covered by the protections available under Thai digital asset laws.
