Democrats are preparing congressional investigations into Donald Trump’s crypto ventures and business dealings after winning control of both chambers of Congress in Tuesday’s midterm elections, according to the Financial Times. Jamie Raskin, who is expected to chair the House Judiciary Committee, plans to examine alleged self-dealing involving Trump’s crypto businesses, presidential pardons granted to donors and law firms that reached agreements with the administration. Robert Garcia, who is expected to chair the House Oversight Committee, also intends to investigate Trump’s family businesses, associates and billionaire allies, including potentially Elon Musk. The investigations could involve subpoenas, demands for corporate records and testimony under oath from executives and administration officials. Hakeem Jeffries, who is set to become House Speaker, has pledged to present a legislative agenda within 100 hours of taking office, although Trump’s threatened veto and the Senate’s 60-vote threshold could complicate the agenda.
