ApeChain migrates to Chainlink CCIP for cross-chain infrastructure

Share

ApeChain announced on November 4, 2026, that it was replacing LayerZero with Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) across the entire Yuga Labs ecosystem. The network, an Arbitrum Orbit layer-3 chain built for the ApeCoin ecosystem, will now use Chainlink Cross-Chain Tokens for APE and USDC. The decision followed the exploitation of a LayerZero-powered bridge connected to Kelp DAO in April 2026, which drained approximately $292 million. According to the article, more than $7.2 billion in assets had migrated from LayerZero infrastructure to Chainlink CCIP by July 2026. The standardization aims to reduce bridging risks, provide a unified token representation and make liquidity transfers between chains easier.
