Reece Merrick, Ripple’s senior executive for the Middle East and Africa, joined a panel at the Dubai Fintech Summit, held on November 2 and 3, 2026, as part of the Dubai Future Finance Week. The discussion, which also featured representatives from BlackRock, Standard Chartered and Robinhood, focused on the infrastructure required to scale digital asset markets. According to Merrick, institutional adoption is no longer the question: the challenge is now to build payment and settlement systems that operate around the clock. The growth of tokenized markets will also require bank-grade infrastructure, reliable custody solutions and effective risk management systems that connect traditional finance with decentralized finance.
